Book Fair Author Nomination Period Closed!

Attention 2007 Book Fair Exhibitors!!

The author nomination period is now closed. Unfortunately, due to an overwhelming response and a shorter period for author readings this year, we’ve had to decline many authors. Our selection process is largely first-come-first-serve, with additional consideration given to the diversity of genres represented. This process is in no way affected by the perceived quality or content of the works represented.

The Read-a-ton will take place over the weekend during the following times:

  • Saturday, December 1 – 10:30am to 11:45am
  • Sunday, December 2 – 11:15am to 11:45am

The list of readers and time assignments will be given shortly – please check the blog for any updates! All readers who have been accepted will be contacted, either directly or through their publisher. Presses: please have author contact info and short bio ready (if you have not already sent it).

Thank you all so much for your interest in participating in this year’s Author Read-a-thon! Please direct any questions or concerns to 212-764-7021.

Hotel Accommodations Update!

bookfair1.jpgWe recommend that you book your hotel reservations as soon as possible, in order to find less expensive accommodations during the busy holiday season.

The list of hotels below isn’t comprehensive by any means, but is a fair representation. It also includes several hotels located on the same block as the NYCIP. All rates are for a single room for two adults. Many of the hotels seem to offer an AAA discount, so when making reservations, we recommend you mention if you are a AAA member. Also note that rates in Brooklyn may be cheaper, and that Hotel Reservations Network has discounted rates at over 50 hotels in New York.
