Publisher Invite to Prestigious Book Design Show

The 2008 NY Book Show is one of the nation’s most prestigious showcases for book design and production. Sponsored by the Book Binders’ Guild, the Show encourages, recognizes, honors, and celebrates excellence in book production.

For this year’s 22nd Annual Book Show, the Guild wants to celebrate books by small and independent presses and have asked the NYCIP to let independent presses know of this opportunity. It is a chance to gain additional publicity for your title(s) and to be included in a stunning catalogue of beautifully designed books. Complete instructions for entry are found on the NY Book Show Website. Books must be submitted by November 14th. Judging of the winners will take place on Friday, November 16th.

The Book Show will be held on the evening of March 11, 2008 where all winning entries will be displayed. Because March is also Small Press Month, the judges will in addition to judging individual entries in the 6 categories, will also select small and independent press entries of particular merit and display those books and covers in a special way at the show. Membership in any organization is not necessary to enter. The show will take place at The Grand Ballroom at The Manhattan Center, 34th Street and 8th Avenue, New York.
